Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, November 16?
By Matt Moore
What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
Here we go again. It’s the start of another week and once again President Donald Trump and his allies have started it by refusing to accept the results of the election. It should make for another entertaining monologue on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
Stephen Colbert spent last week congratulating President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris. But more attention was paid to President Trump and his failing attempts to overturn votes and retain control over the White House.
There is a good chance that even as President Trump’s “fight” continues, The Late Show will pay less and less attention to his antics unless something major happens. Colbert has made it clear that he’s tired of discussing the current president and his show went as far as to censor President Trump’s name from the program. But on the other hand, President Trump continues to make it impossible to ignore the things he says, does, and tweets.
The only way to know for sure is to watch. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show tonight.
Colbert’s guest is CNN anchor Jake Tapper. Tapper was one of several journalists working overtime to cover the election. Expect the conversation to center on President Trump’s behavior post-election, the pandemic response, and what media coverage will be like under a Biden administration.
The night closes with a performance by Benee. The singer’s album Hey U X was released on Nov. 13 and has received favorable reviews.
