What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

Election Day is finally here. It’s been a long four years and it’s felt like 2020 has been even longer. But today is the day that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been waiting for since 2016.

The Late Show has been late night’s go-to spot for election coverage, breaking down the Democratic candidates before turning the spotlight on to Trump/Pence vs. Biden/Harris. And as things have progressed and the pandemic has played a larger role in the election, Stephen Colbert has blended more public service announcements and outright warnings to go along with his comedy.

Fans were treated to just that on Monday night. Colbert and The Late Show returned to start the week and mark Election Day eve. Should they expect more of the same tonight?

Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight?

It goes without saying that the CBS airwaves will be a little busy tonight. With that in mind, there will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Instead, audiences will get wall-to-wall coverage of the election as results come in and we (hopefully) get a better sense of the outcome. But that doesn’t mean Stephen Colbert will be off the air.

Fans can find the Late Show host on Showtime tonight. Colbert is hosting Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020: Democracy’s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020. It starts at 11:00 p.m. and will feature Colbert reacting to election news as it happens during the hour-long special.
