Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight, October 30?
By Matt Moore
What should Real Time with Bill Maher fans expect to see tonight on HBO?
We have reached crunch time in the 2020 election. Just days out from Nov. 3, the candidates are making their final pitches while late night shows are wrapping up their coverage. What does that mean for Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?
The HBO show and its host have been cautiously optimistic about the election. Bill Maher has expressed some nervousness about the results but has also warned about President Donald Trump not relinquishing the White House, suggesting the Real Time host expects a defeat for the incumbent.
Fans will get a better sense of where Maher stands on his last show before the election. There will be a brand new episode of Real Time tonight.
Who is on Real Time Tonight with Bill Maher?
Bill Maher starts with another poltiically-minded comedian tonight. Former Senator and Saturday Night Live alum Al Franken returns to the show.
Franken currently hosts “The Al Franken Podcast” where he talks with politicians and more about everything going on in America. Expect him to weigh in on the Democratic Party’s strategy heading into Election Day and whether or no he anticipates it paying off.
Then Maher will chat with David Sanger. He’s a correspondent for the New York Times. Sanger is also the executive producer of the HBO Max documentary The Perfect Weapon based on his book documenting the rise in cyber warfare. On Real Time, he should provide insight on election security both in 2020 and going forward.
The election will of course be the main topic of discussion for tonight’s panel. It features two guests returning to Real Time with Bill Maher.
John Heilemann is a journalist and currently hosts the television documentary series The Circus on Showtime examining American life and politics in the aftermath of the 2016 election. Heilemann can talk about comparisons between 2016 and 2020 and what, if anything, has changed the most.
Lis Smith is a Democratic political strategist who worked on the presidential campaign for former South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg. She may discuss Buttigieg’s role as a surrogate for Vice President Joe Biden as well as the future for the Democratic Party regardless of the election outcome.
Real Time with Bill Maher airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on HBO. You can also watch on HBO Max. Who are you looking forward to seeing on tonight’s show? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
