Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, September 30?
By Matt Moore
What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
It was a busy Tuesday night for Stephen Colbert. The Late Show took on the difficult task of going live immediately following the debate between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden. Fans could understand if Colbert and company needed a night off.
Colbert didn’t need too many punchlines to cover President Trump’s performance, letting the Republican nominee do most of the work for him. Colbert summed things up by calling President Trump a “giant baby” based on his attitude during the debate.
Most of today was filled with analysis of the debate and attempts to spin the candidates’ answers and nonanswers. There is a good chance Colbert adds to the discussion tonight.
Colbert isn’t taking any break after staying up late on Tuesday. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show tonight on CBS.
The first guest tonight will be actor John Lithgow. His HBO series Perry Mason recently wrapped up its first season. He recently published the book Trumpty Dumpty Wanted a Crown: Verses for a Despotic Age.
Then journalist Jonathan Alter will join the show. He should help Colbert try to put the debate into perspective.
