Saturday Night Live: When will Peacock stream every season?
By Matt Moore
NBC’s streaming service Peacock has promised to make every season of Saturday Night Live available
Saturday Night Live fans rejoiced when NBCUniversal announced that its streaming service Peacock will be home to the entire library. But so far, subscribers have been only given a small taste of the SNL collection.
Peacock launched over the summer with plenty of SNL content. A channel dedicated to the sketch show featured select episodes while the past five seasons and curated “Best Of” complications were also streaming.
Now the Saturday Night Live library is ready to expand. Starting Oct. 1, all 45 seasons of SNL will be available to stream on Peacock.
Peacock’s Saturday Night Live collection still isn’t entirely complete
SNL has been shared across multiple streaming services and websites over the years, making it frustrating for fans searching out a specific sketch or wanting to relive a particular era. Netflix, Hulu, an SNL app, and Yahoo have all been the online home to SNL episodes.
Peacock puts everything from 1975 to 2020 in once place. Well, almost everything. There is still no word if musical performances will be featured in Peacock’s episodes. Copyright deals have prevented other streamers from featuring musical acts and that may still be the case on NBC’s platform.
Fans have also noticed that certain “Digital Shorts” from The Lonely Island are not available on the episodes already available on Peacock. We’ll have to wait and see if that changes once the entire show goes live.
Regardless, Peacock’s offering is still better than anything else SNL fans could ask for. Whether you want to revisit the very beginning, marvel at Chris Farley in the ’90s, or rewatch hits from the current generation of stars, it’s all at your fingertips with Peacock.
