Summer is in the rearview mirror and the calendar has turned over to fall. Saturday Night Live fans know this means a new season is on the horizon.

The wait for more Saturday Night Live has been extra long this year. After three “at home episodes,” season 45 was cut short due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. Still, SNL managed to put together one for the history books, capped off by a number of Emmy Award wins.

We know that the band is getting back together for season 46. SNL announced that the entire cast is returning along with the addition of repertory players Andrew Dismukes, Lauren Holt, and Punkie Johnson.

The hype for season 46 has one more week to build up. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

The season premiere is set for Oct 3. Former cast member Chris Rock will host for the third time and Megan Thee Stallion will be your musical guest.

Fans have been curious about what SNL will look like when it does return. Executive Producer Lorne Michaels has made it clear that Studio 8H will be the show’s base with a limited studio audience.

Season 46 will look and feel unlike any other in the show’s history. For fans, next Saturday can’t come fast enough.
