What should fans of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert expect to see tonight on CBS?

It’s Monday, the start of a new week and the start of a new season. Is it also the start of brand new episodes for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert?

Late-night television fans certainly hope so. A lot has transpired over the weekend and audiences are likely eager to hear Stephen Colbert react to the news, including the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, her legacy, and the political battle that is sure to follow.

Colbert will deliver tonight. The Late Show will be brand new tonight on CBS.

The first guest of the night will be retired Lt. General H.R. McMaster. His extensive and impressive military career included a stint as National Security Adviser to President Donald Trump. McMaster’s memoir Battlegrounds: The Fight to Defend the Free World is set to be released Sept. 22.

Next, Colbert will talk with actor Laurence Fishburne. He picked up the Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series Emmy Award for his role in the Quibi series #FreeRayshawn. It was also recently announced that Fishburne will star in the sitcom Old-ish, a spinoff of Black-ish. He’s also an executive producer on the upcoming Disney animated series Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur based on the cult-classic comic book series from Marvel.
