What should Real Time with Bill Maher fans expect to see tonight on HBO?

The late-night television schedule has been hit or miss this week when it comes to fresh episodes. So what does that mean for Real Time with Bill Maher?

Monday’s Labor Day holiday put all of late-night on hold for a day. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took the entire week off while others such as Late Night with Seth Meyers and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah came back with new shows.

Real Time with Bill Maher will follow the pack tonight. Fans will get a brand new episode tonight on HBO.

Who’s on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight, September 11?

Bill Maher has two interview guests tonight that should appeal to two very different audiences. Still, you won’t want to miss either conversation.

Things start off with former FBI agent Peter Strzok making his Real Time debut. Strzok led the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server and Russian interference in the 2016 elections.

He was removed from the Russia investigation over criticisms of President Trump in text messages sent to FBI lawyer Lisa Page. Strozk was later fired from the FBI for the incident.

Now Strzok has a book, Compromised: Counterintelligence and the Threat of Donald J. Trump. Expect him to share with Bill Maher why he views President Trump as a national security threat.

Next, Maher will interview actor Ewan McGregor. It will also be the Real Time debut for McGregor.

Viewers shouldn’t expect Maher to press for any updates on that Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney Plus. Instead, the two will talk about McGregor’s documentary series Long Way Up coming to Apple TV+ on Sept. 18.

It will be a different story with the panel on tonight’s Real Time with Bill Maher. Both guests have been on the show before.

Jessica Yellin is a journalist and author. She was previously the chief White House correspondent for CNN from 2011 to 2013. In 2019, she published the novel Savage News.

Tonight, she should draw on her experience to put in context the bombshell revelations that came from taped conversations between President Donald Trump and journalist Bob Woodward. Echoing her “#NewsNotNoise” campaign on Instagram, Yellin may also have something to say about media coverage of the president and the 2020 election.

Peter Hamby is a journalist who can be read in Vanity Fair and can be seen as host of the Snapchat show Good Luck America.

Bill Maher will likely want to follow up with Hamby on his recent interview with Senator Lindsey Graham in which they discussed TikTok and QAnon. Given the role of social media in politics right now, Hamby’s insight is something viewers shouldn’t miss.
