For late-night television fans, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is the last thing standing between them and the start of another work week. Thankfully the entertainment the HBO show provides can always stave off the dread that comes with Monday morning.

The summer is a difficult time when it comes to pinning down the schedule for late-night shows. Hosts, crew members, and staff need a break, even if the shows are being filmed remotely for the time being.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is coming off a two-week hiatus, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has turned to guest hosts while Jimmy Kimmel takes the summer off, and Real Time with Bill Maher only recently returned from a month off.

And now we have Last Week Tonight with John Oliver falling into that category as well. There was not a new episode for Aug. 9.

When will Last Week Tonight with John Oliver return?

John Oliver was last seen a week ago. He delivered a much-needed critique of the American education system as it pertains to the teaching of race and slavery in the country. Fans eager to see how he followed up that episode are no doubt disappointed. But they won’t have to wait long.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is set to return with a new episode on Aug. 16. Season seven is scheduled to keep rolling with two more episodes after that on Aug. 23 and Aug. 30.
