Yes, he already has The Eric Andrew Show on Adult Swim where he is free to do whatever he wants and far more than he could on an ABC late-night show. But there is nothing wrong with expanding your audience and trying something different.
Andre has already been a part of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! summer guest host experience. He was the interview guest for comedian Whitney Cummings when she hosted. Hopefully, Kimmel held onto Andre’s contact info after their conversation.
Guest-hosting would also give Andre another chance to promote Legalize Everything, his Netflix stand-up special. Released earlier this summer, it was Andre’s first special for the streaming service.
Quarantine and lockdown protocols in Los Angeles limit what Jimmy Kimmel Live! can do. But if anyone can get more with less, it’s Eric Andre.
