Jimmy Kimmel Live! has had great success with guest hosts
Like the rest of late night television, Jimmy Kimmel Live! is taking a break this week. And when the show does return to ABC on July 6 it will look very different.
Jimmy Kimmel announced that he will be taking this summer off as well as the next two summers. Kimmel has been doing the show virtually nonstop since 2003 so it is a well-deserved break for the host.
But the show will go on without Kimmel. A rotating collection of guest hosts will be taking over Jimmy Kimmel Live! and continue to produce remote episodes featuring monologues and celebrity interviews.
It certainly won’t be the first time the show has been put in the hands of a celebrity guest host. Kimmel’s other jobs in entertainment have kept him away from his late night gig. Also, a few years back featured weeks of guest hosts as Kimmel addressed a family medical issue.
So to get ready for the change of pace at Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Night On is looking back at some of the show’s best moments with guest hosts.
