Here’s what you need to know about BLACKPINK’s Tonight Show performance

Music fans are in for a treat tonight as one of the biggest acts in the world comes to late night television. BLACKPINK is set to deliver a debut performance of “How You Like That” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

BLACKPINK, consisting of members Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rose, is a K-pop act that has been active since 2016 and only increased in popularity and success over the years. There is no denying that K-pop has become a force in the music industry with acts like BTS and now BLACKPINK.

The group released their latest single “How You Like That” today and immediately had fans buzzing worldwide. K-pop fans have built a strong, passionate community through social media and were quick to shower the group with praise for the new song.

The only thing better than releasing a new hit song is performing it live. And that’s just what BLACKPINK will do tonight. Fans can see a debut performance of “How You Like That” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The show starts on NBC at 11:35 PM ET. Fans can also stream the performance via YouTube at 12:00 AM on June 27. The countdown is on.

BLACKPINK is the latest K-pop act to take over late night television

It’s impossible to talk about late night television and K-pop collaborations without discussing BTS. The band has appeared on nearly every American late night show and put together a must-watch event every time. Whether it was playing subway Olympics with Jimmy Fallon, paying homage to the Beatles with Stephen Colbert, or singing along to Carpool Karaoke with James Corden, BTS has definitely made its mark in late night.

BLACKPINK is no stranger to late night television either. The group performed “Ddu-du Ddu-du” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert back in Feb. 2019 and played a game of “Flinch” on The Late Late Show with James Corden in April 2019.

BTS and BLACKPINK have proven that there is a massive audience for their music here in the U.S. Late night television has wisely caught on and made sure to put these groups front and center as often as possible. Tonight’s performance on The Tonight Show should be another example of how K-pop has taken over late night television.
