Should fans expect to see a brand new Saturday Night Live at Home tonight on NBC?

Saturday Night Live fans know that when the calendar turns to May, the season is coming to an end. But season 45 has proven to be anything but predictable.

It’s hard to believe that this is the season that started with Woody Harrelson playing Joe Biden, featured Scarlett Johansson sharing a moment on stage with fiance Colin Jost, and set records with the return of Eddie Murphy. Then again, it’s hard to believe a lot of what has happened this year.

Like the rest of the world, SNL adjusted to social distancing and quarantine rules. Saturday Night Live at Home has been a success in its two previous outings. So what is the plan tonight?

Yes, there will be a new episode of Saturday Night Live at Home tonight. And it will also serve as the season 45 finale. Typically the SNL season extends into the middle of May but given the circumstances, the show is cutting things a little short.

Like the other two episodes, there have been no real details released about tonight’s Saturday Night Live at Home. Surprise cameos are nothing new, especially this year, but SNL kept things under wraps for the special remote shows. The bar has been set pretty high by both Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt already making appearances.

Tonight’s episode could call in a few more favors from SNL alumni and friends. Season finales usually have a surprise or two in store for fans. Given how stars like Paul Rudd, Adam Sandler, and Fred Armisen have popped up in sketches from home, it shouldn’t surprise fans to see even more cameos tonight.

We may also be treated to the results of SNL’s All In Challenge. The show opened up an auction to let one lucky fan submit a joke to be read on-air by “Weekend Update” co-anchor Michael Che. The bidding closed out at an impressive $90,000 so let’s hope the joke lives up to the price tag.
