Jimmy Fallon

Jimmy Fallon has never been one to ruffle feathers during his late night tenure. His political material never reaches the same level of intensity as Stephen Colbert or Seth Meyers. But that still hasn’t kept him safe from the wrath of Donald Trump.

Fallon found himself in a bit of controversy when he hosted Republican candidate for president Donald Trump as a guest on The Tonight Show back in 2016. Fallon was criticized for not challenging the controversial candidate and for attempting to “humanize” him by messing up his hair. The comedian defending himself by saying The Tonight Show is about “gotcha” questions and that his goal is to make his guests comfortable.

Fallon ultimately admitted that he regretted the incident. And that is why President Trump hasn’t been as easy on the comedian ever since. First, the president took to Twitter to call out Fallon in 2018.

A little over a week later, President Trump went after Fallon again. This time, he called the Tonight Show host a “lost soul.” But considering the reviews other comedians have received, it could have been much worse for Fallon. The president’s May 2020 tweet referred to Fallon as a “nice guy” which may be a slight upgrade or an insult in Donald Trump’s world.
