Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?

Another week has come to an end. The ongoing quarantine means that for Saturday Night Live and late night television fans, at-home shows and repeat episodes are the new normal.

Just about every late night show from The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to Real Time with Bill Maher is producing episodes from the host’s home. It will be looked back upon as a unique era in television history both for the content and the circumstances of these shows.

Saturday Night Live was a little late returning to the air compared to other shows. But Saturday Night Live at Home finally debuted on April 11. The first-of-its-kind episode was both entertaining and comforting, highlighted by the monologue from host Tom Hanks.

But SNL followed the at-home episode with a week away. So what should fans expect to see tonight?

A brand new episode, that’s what. Saturday Night Live at Home returns tonight on NBC at 11:30 PM ET.

An extra week between at-home shows may not have been ideal for audiences starving for content. But it was probably good for the cast and writers, allowing more time to create sketch ideas that can be pulled off at home with minimal makeup and costumes.
