Three of late night television’s biggest stars will join forces to host One World: Together at Home.

Response to the COVID-19 pandemic has put a spotlight on the bright side of humanity. The latest example will be the One World: Together at Home charity event to support frontline healthcare workers set for April 18. And once again, late night television is playing its part in helping a worth cause.

The event is being produced by Global Citizen, a social activism organization, and is also being curated by Lady Gaga. Televised around the world, it will be hosted by the three biggest names in late night television: Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel.

It is the latest example of late night personalities stepping up during the novel coronavirus crisis to help the public. Not only have shows been broadcasting from hosts’ homes to keep audiences entertained, but many are doing so to benefit charities as well.

Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and Conan O’Brien have been highlighting various charitable organizations while making comedy from home. Their YouTube and social media channels feature links on how fans can donate to a number of causes.

Recently, The Late Late Show with James Corden held HomeFest, a televised concert event. With performances by Dua Lipa, BTS, and more, the special event also raised money for the CDC Foundation and Feeding America.

One World: Together at Home will showcase the incredible work of doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals combating COVID-19. It will all be to benefit the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund as well as local and regional charities providing services like food, shelter, and healthcare. The event will be broadcast across the ViacomCBS network including Comedy Central, MTV, and more.

In addition to Fallon, Colbert, and Kimmel, One World will boast a star-studded lineup. Appearances by Billie Eilish, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Paul McCartney, and more have been announced.

Clearly, late night television’s hosts are not content with just sitting on the sidelines. As if providing fans with an escape through comedy every night wasn’t enough, they are leading the way on some major charitable endeavors. Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, and Jimmy Kimmel should provide some much-needed levity to the situation all while putting the world’s attention on those that deserve it the most.
