Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 28?

What should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see tonight on NBC?
The entertainment world is doing what it can to produce content in this time of social distancing and quarantining. Saturday Night Live has a unique set of challenges that make it difficult to put together an ensemble comedy show for a live audience.
Experts continue to urge everyone to stay home as much as possible to help stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. These measures have closed businesses, canceled sporting events, and postponed production on television shows and motion pictures.
Late night television programs have been creative in finding ways to make something out of these unprecedented circumstances. Several comedians have filmed monologues and interviews from home and now almost all late night shows are set to return to the airwaves.
Saturday Night Live can’t exactly follow that blueprint. The cast alone exceeds the suggested number of people that should gather at once, nevermind the crew and an audience.
So there will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. The show remains on hiatus and likely will remain that way for the foreseeable future.
Tonight’s show was scheduled to be hosted by A Quiet Place Part II director John Krasinski. It surely would have featured either a reference or another parody of The Office coming off the show’s 15th anniversary. Dua Lipa was set as the musical guest.
Instead, NBC will rebroadcast the Dec. 14, 2019 episode hosted by Scarlett Johansson. Niall Horan served as the musical guest.
Over the past few days, SNL has tried to feature some at-home content from cast members shared via the show’s Instagram channel. The standout so far has been Chloe Fineman’s take on Carole Baskin from the Tiger King documentary on Netflix.
