Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?
If ever there was a week that needed to end with some laughs, this was it. Two major stories dominated the news and neither were particularly amusing. Can Saturday Night Live fans count on the show to turn things around?
The two stories in question are Super Tuesday and the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Former Vice President Joe Biden scored major primary victories, effectively knocking Senator Elizabeth Warren and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg out of the race. For Saturday Night Live viewers, that means that Kate McKinnon is likely hanging up her wig and Fred Armisen’s cameos have come to an end.
The coronavirus story has certainly caught the attention of late night. Shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Late Night with Seth Meyers have all been critical of the White House’s handling of the situation while trying to add humor. SNL has proven over the past month that it isn’t shy about trying to find jokes in the health emergency, either.
So should SNL fans expect the show to be back tonight to deliver more laughs? Or is the show starting March off with a break?
SNL will come through tonight with a brand new episode. The host is No Time to Die star Daniel Craig and the musical guest will be The Weeknd.
It will be Craig’s second time hosting, the first coming back in 2012 to promote another James Bond film Skyfall. You can read Last Night On’s episode preview right here including a discussion on who could play Joe Biden this week.
