Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?

Have you felt like something has been missing the past couple weeks? Chances are it may be from Saturday Night Live withdrawals.

The sketch show was last seen on Feb. 8 with host RuPaul and musical guest Justin Bieber. It was a decent episode highlighted by another debate sketch that featured guest spots from Larry David, Rachel Dratch, Jason Sudeikis, and Fred Armisen.

With another Democratic debate having taken place in South Carolina this week, there is a chance that those comedians would be called in once again. A cameo-packed cold open has become the calling card of season 45.

So will it be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight? Or is the cast and crew taking off the rest of February to prepare for March?

Good news, SNL fans: there will be a brand new show tonight. John Mulaney is the host and David Byrne is the musical guest.

This will be Mulaney’s third time hosting, having done so in each of the past two seasons. You can read Last Night On’s episode preview right here. Expect the show to cater to die-hard Saturday Night Live fans and get back to basics with a focus on original sketches.

The episode also pairs Mulaney and Byrne together in a reunion of John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch. The Talking Heads frontman appeared in Mulaney’s most recent Netflix sketch that is absolutely worth checking out if you haven’t already.

Mulaney’s popularity and the long layoff between episodes should mean that a lot of viewers tune into SNL tonight. The stand-up’s hosting gig last season was one of the season’s highest rated episode and was a strong improvement from his first turn.
