The Late Show with Stephen Colbert debuted a trailer for the latest spinoff from The Bachelor.
Television producers have shown that if a concept or format works, they’ll keeping going back to that well until audiences are exhausted. Thanks to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, we now have an idea what that will look like for fans of The Bachelor franchise.
The Bachelor debuted on ABC in 2002. A year later came The Bachelorette. Since then there have been at least eight other shows and spin-offs centered around strangers trying to find true love.
If you have been watching Pilot Pete’s season of The Bachelor these past few months, then chances are you’ve seen the promos for the next spin-off: The Bachelor for seniors.
Singles 65 years old and up have been encouraged to apply for the show. And now we have our first look at what the search for love in the golden years looks like thanks to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert:
We’ll have to wait to see if ABC leans into the senior humor as much as Stephen Colbert and The Late Show writers did here. But even the best casting in the screening in the world won’t be able to stop all the unintentional humor found on The Bachelor no matter how old are the participants.
The Bachelor has always been ripe for parody whether it is late night shows like Colbert’s on or Saturday Night Live. But nothing will ever beat Jimmy Kimmel Live! and “The Baby Bachelor.”
Speaking of Kimmel, he is still very much in the running for having his Bachelor prediction come true once again. He had successfully predicted the last Bachelorette winner and if Pete gives Hannah Ann the final rose, it will be two in a row for Rosetradamus.
