BTS is set to take over The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a very special episode.

The wait is almost over for BTS fans. Two weeks after the announcement, we are now just days away from K-pop superstars BTS taking over The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The announcement back on Feb. 6 immediately became the biggest story in entertainment and dominated social media. Jimmy Fallon asked the BTS Army to send in questions they wanted to ask the band and in no time #FallonAsksBTS was trending worldwide.

If the Tonight Show appearance was just a performance of song from the new album Map of the Soul: 7, then BTS fans would be ecstatic. After all, BTS has a proven track record of delivering some jaw-dropping live performances on late night television.

But Jimmy Fallon is giving fans more than just a performance. Much, much more. Here’s a breakdown of everything we know about BTS on The Tonight Show. And if you want to be surprised by absolutely everything you see on the show, stop reading now. Spoilers ahead!

Who

The “who” is BTS and Jimmy Fallon. The K-pop band is the biggest act on the planet right now and boasts the some of the most dedicated, knowledgeable, and creative fans in music. 24 million Twitter followers, 23 million on Instagram, and over 15 million albums sold all add up to a lot of BTS fans.

Jimmy Fallon will host the band for the second time as BTS continues to rotate through U.S. late night shows like Fallon’s Tonight ShowThe Late Late Show with James Corden, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Fallon has demonstrated chemistry and comfort with the band members so that should help, given the big production expected for the special night. The extra attention from the Army should give Fallon a nice ratings boost, too.

What

The “what” is a special episode of The Tonight Show unlike anything else Jimmy Fallon and company have done. Typically the cast of a major blockbuster movie can takeover a late night show, occupying the normal two interview segments. But it has been a while since a musical act has had that kind of star-power. And even still, the BTS episode of The Tonight Show will be more than an interview.

According to a release from the Tonight Show, the fan questions sent in via social media will be asked in a creative way. Fallon is set to interview BTS while on the subway during a tour of New York City.

The band will also debut a new song from their new album Map of the Soul: 7. The performance was filmed at New York’s Grand Central Station and is said to be one of the most high-production episodes in the history of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

It also wouldn’t be The Tonight Show without a game. Fans can expect to see a brand new game unveiled on the show. And according to showrunner Gavin Purcell it will be played one vs. one tournament style so anticipate Fallon and the BTS boys challenging each other.

Where

This will all be taking place in New York City, the home of The Tonight Show. As mentioned, the band’s performance is set at Grand Central Station and the subway ride will be used to setup their arrival. It’s all part of Fallon playing tour guide for the band, including bringing them to the famous Katz Deli to try New York food.

BTS is building quite the history in New York. It’s where they filmed their Beatles-inspired performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. And just last month, the band was there to help ring in the new year.

Fans can watch the show on NBC. Subscribers to Hulu and FuboTV should also have access. Clips will also be made available on The Tonight Show‘s YouTube channel and across social media with #BTSonFallon.

When

BTS on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs Monday, Feb. 24 at 11:30 PM ET. The happiness that comes from the show will go on and on and on…

Why

The “why” is the question that needs to be asked the least. We’ve already gone over how massively popular BTS is as a band and its reputation for putting on an amazing show.

The special episode will also help the band promote the release of the new album Map of the Soul: 7. The album was released on Feb. 21 and came with overwhelming praise from both critics and fans alike.
