2. Pedro Pascal

Pedro Pascal and Ewan McGregor have a lot in common. Both portray popular Star Wars characters, both lead their own Disney+ series, both star in a highly anticipated DC movie in 2020, and both deserve to host Saturday Night Live.

Pascal was a fan-favorite actor well before donning the helmet in The Mandalorian. Roles in NarcosGame of Thrones, and Kingsman: The Golden Circle helped raise his profile and gain recognition for his abilities both in drama and comedy.

But there is no denying that The Mandalorian was a pop culture phenomenon and a massive hit for Disney’s streaming service. And while Pascal may have been upstaged by Baby Yoda, the actor deserves plenty of credit for the show’s success.

Saturday Night Live has a long history with and appreciation for the Star Wars universe. It’s part of the reason Adam Driver is coming back for the second consecutive season later this month. Pascal hosting would continue that relationship while also giving a first-timer the chance to shine.

Pascal could also host to promote his upcoming movie Wonder Woman 1984. Pascal will play the villain Maxwell Lord opposite Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. Gadot is another option to host given she did a fine job in the role during season 43 in 2017. SNL could even turn to old friend Kristen Wiig who also plays a major part in the movie. It doesn’t arrive in theaters until June 5, 2020 but fans don’t want to wait that long. Pascal on Saturday Night Live would certainly help get them to WW84.
