Here are The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s five best monologues on President Donald Trump from 2019.

President Donald Trump was the number one topic in late night television in 2019, if not the world. And while every show had something to say, nobody said more or made more waves than The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Since he announced his run for the White House, Donald Trump has had a tumultuous relationship with late night television. He has lashed out at Saturday Night Live and hosts like Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon. But his number one enemy has to be Stephen Colbert.

Colbert tried to play nice with Trump during a 2015 interview on The Late Show. Colbert apologized for being so hard on Trump but the then Republican candidate said he himself had nothing to apologize for.

When he became President Donald Trump, one scandal after another seemed to follow. And The Late Show has covered every one as good if no better than any one else in late night. It’s part of the reason Colbert has put The Late Show in contention for the highest rated late night show week after week.

So with 2019 coming to an end, we look back at some of Stephen Colbert’s best monologues dedicated to, or aimed at, President Donald Trump. And with the way 2020 is shaping up, it doesn’t look like Colbert will go any easier on President Trump in the future.
