Let’s Make a Poop! With Triumph the Insult Comic dog is the latest podcast from Team Coco.

Conan O’Brien and the rest of Team Coco have carved out a podcast empire over the past two years, taking over much of the comedy charts. Their latest addition shows there is no sign of slowing down or taking it easy on the competition. And that is thanks to none other than Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Triumph the Insult Comic dog was created by comedian and writer Robert Smigel. THe puppet made its debut on Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 1997 and quickly became a fan-favorite character. Since then, Triumph has popped up on O’Brien’s other late night shows as well as others like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, had his own Adult Swim show, and produced some excellent election coverage.

Now Triumph has set his sights on the podcast world– a world that is becoming more and more dominated by Team Coco. “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” is already one of the highest rated comedy podcasts around. The network also has “Three Questions with Andy Richter,” “Inside Conan,” and the scripted series “Smartr.”

Triumph’s podcast is unlike most others on the market. Rather than an interview or straight ahead commentary setup, “Let’s Make a Poop! With Triumph the Insult Comic Dog” is a live quiz show in which celebrity panelist compete for cash prizes to benefit charities. Triumph may love to poop on celebrities, but the comic does like to do some good along the way.

“Let’s Make a Poop!” recently released its debut episode. It features special guests political commentator Lawrence O’Donnell and Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson and former White House Director of Communications Anthony Scaramucci.

Fans of Robert Smigel and Triumph won’t be disappointed. The same sense of humor that Triumph brought to Star Wars premieres, dog shows, and Ted Cruz’s campaign trail can be found on the podcast.

That means things can quickly go from quick-witted one-liners to very crass. And where else can you hear Lawrence O’Donnell, Anthony Scaramucci, and Pete Davidson on the same panel where poop jokes are flying? Only from the mind of Smigel can fans get such a treat.

Speaking of treats, there is nice callback in the podcast for longtime Triumph fans. The announcer for the quiz show is none other than Blackwolf the Dragon Master, New York’s unofficial wizard. If you don’t quite remember that name then you may recall his appearance when Triumph the Insult Comic Dog attended the premiere of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones:

Overall, the podcast is of course a must-listen for fans of Smigel and Triumph. It will also have an audience for old school Conan O’Brien fans who miss the Late Night days. “Let’s Make a Poop!” will also serve as a nice holdover until Triumph’s 2020 election coverage comes around.
