Norm Macdonald

The fans have hoped for it since “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” was announced. They have wanted it even more as season one became season two. It is time for Norm Macdonald to finally be a guest on the podcast.

While O’Brien and Macdonald did not overlap at Saturday Night Live, they both got their careers off the ground at the sketch show. Macdonald became a frequent and can’t-miss guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. His one-liner about one of the best moments Carrot Top remains in the show’s history.

Macdonald has continued to appear on Conan and it is clear that O’Brien cannot get enough of the comedian. O’Brien may act exhausted or frustrated with Macdonald’s signature delivery style but there is a reason Macdonald keeps getting invited back to the show.

In fact, the first episode of season two featured O’Brien and David Letterman singing the praises of Norm Macdonald. Fans on Twitter routinely ask when Macdonald will be on the show. If the comedian doesn’t make it on an episode in 2020, then perhaps O’Brien will feature Macdonald in another “Deep Dive” miniseries like he did with Dana Carvey. It’s hard to imagine just one podcast episode being enough for Norm Macdonald.
