Seth Meyers

Conan O’Brien has not hesitated to invite his late night “competition” onto the podcast. For that reason and a few other connections, Seth Meyers would make a perfect guest on “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.”

O’Brien has already interviewed late night icon David Letterman. Prior to that, he interviewed Jimmy Kimmel, John Oliver, and Stephen Colbert. All three interviews were different but each gave some insight on how the hosts approach working in late night.

Seth Meyers would be the natural choice for the next late night comedian to come on the podcast. As host of Late Night, Meyers runs the very show that made O’Brien famous. The two could certainly discuss Late Night‘s legacy in the history of the genre and the common themes that have run through the show during its various incarnations.

Beyond Late Night, Meyers and O’Brien have a lot more in common. Both are from New England, both initially trained as improvisers, and both were writers at Saturday Night Live. That makes for a lot of jumping off points where the two can trade stories and provide fans with an inside look on what makes them two of the more successful individuals in their fields.
