Saturday Night Live closes out your Black Friday
By Matt Moore
End your Black Friday shopping spree with a little help from Saturday Night Live.
Black Friday has become its own holiday, piggybacking off Thanksgiving to give people one more thing to look forward to at the end of November. And in the world of late night, nobody celebrates the holidays like Saturday Night Live.
Whether it is St. Patrick’s Day, Christmas, or Thanksgiving, Saturday Night Live has delivered plenty of sketches to mark special occasions across the calendar. Black Friday may not be an official holiday, but millions of people treat it like one.
And Saturday Night Live fans know that if any thing in pop culture gets big enough, then the show will find a way to make fun of it. Black Friday is no different.
So after a long day of traffic, finding a parking spot, pushing through crowds, and finding the perfect holiday deal, there is a good chance you’re in need of a laugh. Saturday Night Live has you covered, as always.
This sketch may be a few years old but it’s just as relevant. The madness associated with Black Friday hasn’t slowed down as people are willing to go crazy to save a few dollars on clothes, electronics, and just about anything else you can find for sale. It may be safer just to stay home and shop on Amazon.
But if you did go out, then the insanity and madness was probably part of the reason why you went out on Black Friday. For many families, it has become just as much of a tradition as watching football on Thanksgiving.
And if Black Friday is just the start of your shopping season, then Saturday Night Live has some more advice. Check out the show’s holiday shopping guide released just in time for the winter holidays.
Saturday Night Live is off this week, recovering from Thanksgiving and Black Friday like the rest of us. The show will be back with a brand new episode hosted by Jennifer Lopez on Dec. 7. Check back in with Last Night On for more updates.
