Should Saturday Night Live fans expect a brand new episode tonight or will it be another week off for the show?

Saturday Night Live is five episodes in to the shows 45th season. And after five episodes, the show’s schedule is getting just as hard to predict as to which show will land with audiences.

The premiere episode, hosted by Woody Harrelson, aired back on Sept. 28. It took a long, hard look at the impeachment inquiry, then in its infant stages. That was followed by two more episodes hosted by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and David Harbour.

Then came the first break of the season before things returned on Oct. 26 with Chance the Rapper serving as both host and musical guest. The following week, Charlie’s Angels star Kristen Stewart returned to host for the second time. After Stewart, it was another week off for Saturday Night Live.

So in season 45 we have had five episodes and two weeks off. Which direction will things go tonight, Nov. 16?

Saturday Night Live is back tonight with a brand new episode. Harry Styles is your host and musical guest.

You can read Last Night On’s episode preview right here. We outline why Styles will be feeling the pressure of double-duty as well as the responsibility of getting Saturday Night Live back on track. Styles will also want to make a good impression to reduce the risk he’s overshadowed by the return of Will Ferrell next week.

Fans should probably expect a cold open inspired by the first public impeachment hearings. It’s hard to know if Saturday Night Live will return to the early season trend of celebrity cameos if they want to portray diplomats George Kent and Bill Taylor. Or SNL can look in-house and use the excess of talent on the cast.
