Jimmy Kimmel’s Halloween candy prank is back for 2019

Jimmy Kimmel promised that he doesn’t hate kids before showing the latest edition of his YouTube challenge “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.”
No other late night show uses kids for comedy quite like Jimmy Kimmel Live!. And for anyone who thinks that the show’s Halloween candy prank is mean and not funny, Jimmy Kimmel is ready to assure you that he does not hate kids.
Kimmel has been using kids for sketches and YouTube challenges for years now. Fans have seen “The Baby Bachelor,” Kimmel hold roundtable discussions with kids about everything from politics to sports, and the comedian encourage kids to pull off their own pranks.
But Kimmel’s annual Halloween prank has been his best known use of kids for comedy. 2019 marked the ninth year that Kimmel has encouraged parents to lie to their children, film it, and let him show it to the entire country. And while concerns that it is a bit mean-spirited may be valid, it’s hard to argue with the views these videos get each year.
To prove that Kimmel does not hate children, he announced his new children’s book The Serious Goose prior to unveiling this year’s Halloween prank video. Proceeds from Kimmel’s book will go children’s hospitals around the country.
So keep that in mind as you watch the 2019 edition of “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy.” Again, Jimmy Kimmel does not hate children.
It was another year of meltdowns and tantrums as kids across the country were told that their Halloween candy was gone. We did see a less expletives and full blown explosions than years pass but year nine of the prank was just as entertaining.
The star of this year had to be the kid at 2:41 mark. While his older sister was content to just smash her Halloween bucket, he was able to deliver a stern but fair lecture to his mother. It’s hard to imagine him pulling this prank on his kids in the future.
