Will Saturday Night Live fans get a new episode tonight or the first rerun of the season?

It is finally Saturday and late night fans know that means it is time for Saturday Night Live. After a long summer, season 45 is in full swing.

Things kicked off three weeks ago when Woody Harrelson hosted the season premiere. That episode heavily relied on the impeachment inquiry story for sketch material. Since things, the political humor has drastically reduced but by no means left the show.

Following that show, Fleabag star Phoebe Waller-Bridge made her Saturday Night Live debut. Waller-Bridge proved she is an all-world talent and could very well  be a cast member herself.

Last week featured another host coming to Saturday Night Live for the first time. Stranger Things star David Harbour took the stage at Studio 8H and helped delivered an early contender for sketch of the year.

So how will Saturday Night Live keep the momentum of season 45 going tonight? Well, not so fast. There will not be a new episode for Oct. 18.

We have hit our first of what will be several breaks in the Saturday Night Live schedule. While future hosts like Kristen Stewart and  Eddie Murphy were announced at the start of the season, it won’t be until later in the year that we see them.

We do know that Chance the Rapper will be next up to host on Oct. 26. He will also be playing double duty as the musical guest, following in the footsteps of Halsey from last season. It should be a fantastic episode considering how well Chance did as host in 2017 and how eager he is to get his full-blown comedy career going.
