Conan Without Borders: Ghana gets a release date
By Matt Moore
TBS has announced when fans can finally watch Conan Without Borders: Ghana, the latest travel special from Conan O’Brien.
Conan O’Brien truly is an international man of comedy these days. The late night host will be releasing his latest edition of “Conan Without Borders,” his third of 2019.
It was a very quick turnaround that got the last special, “Conan Without Borders: Greenland,” on the air. In a matter of weeks, O’Brien and the rest of Team Coco came up with the idea to visit Greenland, film a load of content, edit it, and get it on a special episode.
The inspiration behind the visit, namely President Trump’s consideration of buying Greenland, meant that the episode was more timely than others. With Trump, stories drop in and out of the headlines so quickly it can be hard to keep up. If Team Coco took its time with the Greenland episode, Trump very well could have made a bid on another territory and made Greenland look like old news.
The “Inside Conan” podcast also talked about the Greenland trip. It gives fans some pretty good insight on how the trip came together and what went in to producing the episode.
Fans also know that O’Brien had been teasing a different trip before he flew off to Greenland. After interviewing Veep star Sam Richardson, O’Brien announced that the pair would be visiting Ghana for an episode of “Conan Without Borders.”
Both Richardson and O’Brien posted some pictures and video from their trip that took place back in June. Now we know just when the full special will air.
TBS will run “Conan Without Borders: Ghana” on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 10:00 PM ET. Note the time difference compared to the show’s typical air time.
Anyone familiar with Sam Richardson knows that he is one of the funniest people on television. Conan O’Brien’s travel specials are always that much more entertaining when he has a someone coming along with him to help fit in. Be sure to check in with Last Night On for more updates and highlights.
