Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend has a season two premiere date and more big name guests planned for the podcast.

Conan O’Brien’s march to the top of the podcast world didn’t take long. The late night host proved he is very much still the voice of the people as “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” found its way to the top of just about every comedy podcast chart.

With the help of co-host Sona Movsesian and producer Matt Gourley, O’Brien quickly adapted to the podcast format and seamlessly translated his signature sense of comedy to the medium. Millions of downloads by fans, critical praise, and his own personal satisfaction convinced O’Brien that the podcast world had much more to offer than he anticipated.

The success of “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” is also due in part to the incredible lineup of guests Team Coco assembled. Not many podcasts can boast First Lady Michelle Obama, Stephen Colbert, and Will Ferrell in its first season. O’Brien had that by episode 18.

Season one wrapped up in July. To hold over fans, O’Brien released a weekly miniseries of podcasts with Dana Carvey. Even “limited” to the same guest for six weeks, O’Brien delivered more comedy gold for podcast fans.

Now O’Brien, Movsesian, and Gourley are ready for season two. Team Coco has announced that the first episode will be released Monday, Oct. 7.

We also know who some of season two’s guests will be. And it sounds like “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” will be even bigger this season.Announced guests include Paul Rudd, Tina Fey, David Letterman, and Ellen Degeneres.

Letterman is a legend and heavy influence on O’Brien since succeed Letterman as host of Late Night. Degeneres has appeared on Conan and Late Night in the past. But both have room to become even better friends with O’Brien after the podcast.

Tina Fey is another longtime guest of O’Brien’s show. She also cast him as her former love in 30 Rock. The two certainly have a lot in common with both writing for Saturday Night Live. Paul Rudd has also made dozens of appearances with O’Brien. Hopefully they will get into Rudd’s signature Mac and Me prank.
