Conan O’Brien will look to carry the world of late night this week and he’s got the right guests to help.

Things will be a little quieter than usual in the world of late night this week. However, there will be one voice heard in late night and it happens to be the voice of the people: Conan O’Brien.

With just about all of late night taking one final summer vacationConan will be one of the lone shows coming through with new episodes this week. The TBS show is coming off a break of its own so everyone from O’Brien through the staff will hopefully be recharged and ready to go.

A week free of competition should be good for Conan. O’Brien doesn’t pay much attention to his ratings or what other late night shows are doing. Still, it will be episodes and clips of Conan that late night fans will rely on all week.

Helping things along will be the week’s guests. Conan will welcome some pretty big names with plenty of late night experience, meaning that fans are in for entertaining interviews every night. Here’s a preview of what to expect this week on Conan.

Monday

Actor Gerard Bulter is on the show Monday Aug. 19. He is out promoting his latest movie, Angel Has Fallen.

This will be the third movie in the Fallen film series, acting as a sequel to Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen. Butler returns once again as Secret Service agent Mike Banning.

A movie like this doesn’t exactly need a lot of plugging. Audiences know what to expect especially if they have seen the previous two Fallen installments. It’s an action movie and an over-the-top one at that.

But Butler is a popular and well-liked star. And Conan O’Brien doesn’t shy away from things that are over-the-top. Butler has already made a couple of late night stops promoting this movie but now he gets the chance to share some stories with O’Brien.

Tuesday

Comedian and podcast legend Marc Maron returns to Conan this week. Fans can catch him on Tuesday Aug. 20.

Maron has been a longtime guest of Conan O’Brien, dating all the way back to the Late Night with Conan O’Brien era. The two have an excellent chemistry together that comes through during every interview.

They took that chemistry one step further earlier this year through the magic of podcasting. O’Brien had previously been a guest on Maron’s “WTF” podcast. Maron returned the favor by appearing on an episode of  “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” where the late night host picked up some podcasting tips from Maron. Fans are in for another entertaining conversation on Tuesday night as Maron plugs a new season of his Netflix series Glow.

Wednesday

Another frequent Conan guest returns on Wednesday. Actress Jane Lynch will be on the show on Aug. 21.

Lynch can be heard in the animated series Final Space, produced by Conan O’Brien and also featuring O’Brien as a voice actor. She can currently be seen hosting Hollywood Game Night.

Lynch has been active in movies and television for a long time. That means she is more than comfortable sitting on the couch with O’Brien and Andy Richter. It also means that she has a ton of stories and has somehow managed to remain down to earth. Fans should expect more of the same on Wednesday night.

Thursday

Conan ends its week with one of the funniest people on the planet stopping by the show. Fred Armisen is the guest on Aug. 22.

Armisen has been coming by Conan since his days as a Saturday Night Live cast member and continued to do so to promote his series Portlandia. The comedian recently had his HBO series Los Espookys renewed for a second season.

Whether it is on SNL, Documentary Now!, or any talk show, Fred Armisen is a must-watch performer. His odd sense of humor is absolutely appreciated by Conan O’Brien which makes their conversations all the more entertaining. Armisen on Conan is the perfect way to end the late night week.
