Jimmy Kimmel’s Bachelorette prediction comes true…again
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel proved once again that nobody knows the world of The Bachelorette quite like him.
Predicting, forecasting, taking an educated guess. Whatever you want to call it, Jimmy Kimmel can see into the future when it comes to both The Bachelorette and The Bachelor. His impressive record improved after Tuesday’s season finale of The Bachelorette.
Even if you’re not a fan of the reality series, you’ve probably seen Kimmel talk about it plenty of times over the year. Sharing the ABC network, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Bachelor/Bachelorette series have had a mutually beneficial relationship when it comes to promotions.
For years now, Kimmel has kicked off the season by predicting who each bachelor or bachelorette will chose. Considering the number of contestants on each season, it has been impressive to see how accurate Kimmel’s predictions are each time.
However, if you’re familiar with Kimmel’s picks then you know that the real talent here is his wife and co-head writer Molly McNearney. McNearney feeds her picks to Kimmel who in turn feeds them to his audience. Let’s look back at Kimmel’s pick for Hannah B.’s season:
And who did Hannah ultimately decide deserved the final rose? None other than Kimmel/McNearney’s pick of Jed.
Maybe it is all that time in comedy or showbusiness. Maybe it is a secret power. Maybe it is inside sources at ABC. But clearly something is going on with Molly McNearney when it comes to her ability to pick reality television show winners.
Kimmel was ready to gloat about another successful pick on Tuesday night’s show. He switched between praising himself and crediting McNearney in a funny way. Then he sat down with Hannah to remind her that he saw this coming, long before fans knew anything about dog food jingles or secret girlfriends.
Kimmel has accurately predicted six of the last eight Bachelorette winners and six of the last seven on The Bachelor. He reminds his audience that he, “Rosetradamus,” is now 12-3.
That is a very impressive record. Professional gamblers aren’t that good. Sports commentators can rarely tell who is going to win any given game, never mind predict 12 out of 15 champions before a season starts.
In typical reality show fashion, a major bombshell put an end to Hannah and Jed’s relationship before it could even start. So who knows what the future holds for the former Bachelorette? Probably Jimmy Kimmel and Molly McNearney, actually.
