Dana Carvey on Lights Out with David Spade

Two Saturday Night Live alumni get together to close out the late night week. See Dana Carvey on Lights Out with David Spade on Thursday August 1.

Carvey and Spade’s time at Saturday Night Live briefly overlapped. Carvey was on the show from 1986 to 1993 while Spade’s run was from 1990 to 1996. The two had very different experiences with Carvey helping to create iconic characters like the Church Lady and Garth Algar. Spade also had popular characters like one of the Gap girls and flight attendant. But it was as himself on “Weekend Update” bits where he really shined.

Now the two are back together for Spade’s new show Lights Out. It will be interesting to see what what the show will actually look like after hearing about the style and format. Spade has some very funny comedians lined up all week culminating with Carvey. It’s a smart call to bring him some heavy hitters that Spade has chemistry with to kick off Lights Out.

Other guests coming to Lights Out for the first week include Neal Brennan, Jim Jeffries, and Nick Swardson. All have the own unique styles when it comes to comedy. No better example of that exists than Dana Carvey who will bring his personal spin and sense of humor to Lights Out.
