Cardi B and Offset explain Clout lyrics with help from Jimmy Kimmel
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel helped explain just exactly Cardi B and Offset are talking about in their song Clout.
It can be pretty difficult to keep up with the latest slang. It can be even more challenging to keep up with what is said in a rap song. Thankfully we have Jimmy Kimmel to keep everyone informed like he did on Wednesday night with Offset and Cardi B.
There is reason why websites like Genius exist. Fans want to know exactly what their favorite artists are saying and what it all means. No one wants to be singing along to a popular song only to belt out a misheard lyric or have no idea what they may be saying.
Jimmy Kimmel has taken the world of Googling lyrics one step further with his “New Lyrics for Old People” segments. Whether you are a bit older and want to know what is going on in pop music or you’re a younger fan who is also clueless, Kimmel wants to help.
On Wednesday he called in two of the most popular names in music to help: the power couple of Offset and Cardi B. Like in just about everything else, Cardi B has become a popular guest to have in late night. She didn’t disappoint alongide Offset in explaining just what their song “Clout” is all about.
Give credit to Jimmy Kimmel for only getting the meaning behind one lyric incorrect. It just happened to be the most risque one they covered. But a quick lesson from Cardi B reminded Kimmel of what his mother taught him about the anatomy of different sized women.
Whether you like her music or not, there is no denying that Cardi B is an entertaining personality. Her husband Offset is a little more reserved here but it is obvious that Cardi is comfortable in her own skin and in front of the camera. She even gets Kimmel a little flustered and trying to keep up with her.
If Offset and Cardi B do decide to let Kimmel on their next song, they should know that he won’t be coming in to the rap world without experience. He’s learned from one of the best in Eminem.
Fans of Offset and Cardi B now have even more insight on “Clout.” And old people learned something about buying cars and living life for Instagram. Consider it another important public services provided by Jimmy Kimmel.
