Megan Rapinoe on Late Night with Seth Meyers

Late Night with Seth Meyers will also start off its week with a big name guest. Soccer star and World Cup champion Megan Rapinoe stops by on Monday July 15.

It was just over a week ago that Rapinoe led the U.S. national team to a 2-0 victory over the Netherlands to win a second consecutive World Cup. Rapinoe scored the first goal of the game and her sixth of the tournament.

That goal earned her the Golden Boot as the top scorer. She was also recognized with the Golden Ball as the best overall player. Not bad for a 34 year old who some thought wouldn’t be back on the national team.

Rapinoe has made her fair share of headlines off the field as well. She caught the attention of President Donald Trump after suggesting the team would not visit the White House. Rapinoe has also been leading the charge for equal pay between the U.S. men’s and women’s national teams.

Whether it is recapping the World Cup experience or talking about the next steps outside of the game, Rapinoe is worth listening to when she speaks. Seth Meyers will no doubt give her the platform on Late Night.
