Should fans expect to see a new episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver tonight on HBO?
It is Sunday which means the weekend has come to an end. It also means that the July 4 holiday weekend is also over. What does that mean for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver?
The sixth season, which began back in Feb., has been just as strong as ever. Viewership averages around one million per night. But it is the show’s YouTube channel that remains the most impressive in all of late night. Twenty minute long segments of John Oliver breaking down various topics routinely get around five million views per video.
For fans of Last Week Tonight, those videos will have to come in handy this week. There will be no new episode for July 7.
Oliver is on the same schedule as his fellow HBO host Bill Maher, who also took this week off to celebrate the Fourth of July. Last Week Tonight will be on a two week hiatus and is set to return with a new episode on July 28.
