The best of Stranger Things on late night television
By Matt Moore
To celebrate the launch of Stranger Things season three, we look at how the hit Netflix series has been covered by late night.
July 4 will not only be an American holiday but a holiday for every Stranger Things fan in the world. That’s when season three of sci-fi horror series arrives on Netflix.
Stranger Things debuted in 2016 and was a massive success right off the bat. Fans loved the aesthetics of the 1980s, the celebration of pop culture from that era, and the supernatural elements that drove the plot.
The show also made stars out of the cast overnight. Yes, everyone was already familiar with Winona Ryder and David Harbour. But it was the kids that really stole the show. Everyone became familiar with Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Noah Schnapp.
These young actors have used their success from Stranger Things to land roles in even more mainstream projects. Brown has been featured in two Godzilla movies while Wolfhard also stayed in the horror genre with a role in It.
With the popularity of Stranger Things came the inevitable coverage from late night television. Cast members popped up on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Spoofs of the show were featured on Saturday Night Live.
So after you watch all those recap videos to remind you what happened in the first two seasons, we have even more Stranger Things content for you. Check out these clips featuring how the show and cast has found even more popularity through late night television.
