Billy Eichner joined Conan O’Brien to play Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled in another installment of Clueless Gamer.

Conan O’Brien’s record on “Clueless Gamer” isn’t very impressive. But one area he has been able to beat his guests is in his disinterest in all things video games. He may have finally met his match in Billy Eichner, a comedian even more impatient than Conan when it comes to video games.

Eichner has a long history working with O’Brien. Prior to the mainstream success of his series Billy on the Street, Eichner filmed field pieces for Conan including following the 2012 election and Madonna.

Now Eichner is out getting ready for the release of his film The Lion King. He provides the voice of TImon to Seth Rogen’s Pumbaa. Before all that, he sat down for another edition of “Clueless Gamer” where his patience was immediately put to the test by the technical team of Team Coco. Only then could the two comedians finally try out “Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.”

Maybe it was the nine-day delay between sitting down and actually getting the PlayStation to work that sapped some of the energy from Conan O’Brien and Billy Eichner. But once things got rolling it was the now video game veteran O’Brien who took the first race.

Fans also got the biggest joke of the segment from that race as Eichner yelled out “Wait for me, I’m gay!”. Eichner then shows off his comedic skills by riffing on that one line with references to the Stonewall riots, Rocketman, and 2020 presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg.

As mentioned, O’Brien and Eichner have quite a lot of experience working together. Fans shouldn’t be surprised if Eichner ends up on a future episode of the “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” podcast. This edition of “Clueless Gamer” was fun but it didn’t quite get to the level of entertainment reached by “Conan and Billy Join Grindr.”

Hopefully we get a lot more content from Conan O’Brien and Billy Eichner moving forward. We certainly haven’t see the last “Clueless Gamer” as it has become one of the most popular segments in all of late night.
