Seth Meyers closes out the week of Late Night by inviting back a talented actor and NBC colleague. James Spader joins the show on Thursday, Feb. 21.
Spader is the star of the NBC drama Blacklist. The show had its sixth season premier back in January and it has been getting very positive reviews from fans and critics.
It has been Spader’s performance that has resulted in Blacklist getting most of its attention since it debuted on NBC in 2013. The actor has been nominated for two Golden Globes for his portrayal of Raymond “Red” Reddington. Reddington has been considered by some as one of the best characters in recent television history.
Spader’s casting on Blacklist came on the heels of his work on another NBC program. He landed on Blacklist after his run as Robert California on The Office. During his time on Blacklist, he also did the voice and motion capture for Ultron in Avengers: Age of Ultron. So it’s pretty safe to say that Spader knows how to pick his roles at this stage of his career. His other spots in late night also show that he makes for an interesting conversation partner.
