Late night: Five guests to get excited for this week – Feb. 11

Ben Affleck on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Nobody likes being caught in the middle of a feud but that’s exactly where Ben Affleck finds himself in the Matt Damon/Jimmy Kimmel saga. Another chance for reconciliation is set for Thursday, Feb. 14 when Affleck returns to Jimmy Kimmmel Live!
Affleck has always been a good sport about his role in the ongoing Damon/Kimmel bit. He tried to stay neutral when the three went to a Red Sox/Dodgers World Series game last fall.
Beyond that bit, Affleck always makes for an interesting interview. He’s had a long career in Hollywood marked by a series of ups and downs. Few actors have had their personal lives examined like Affleck while still working on quality projects.
Thursday’s visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! will be on of the first public interviews Affleck has done since announcing treatment for alcoholism. As a friend of Kimmel’s, the show will mark a comfortable way for the actor to step back into the public eye.
The interview also comes a few weeks after it was announced that Affleck will not be playing Batman in director Matt Reeves’ upcoming film. Affleck’s portrayal of the Dark Knight was considered one of the lone positives in 2016’s Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice but the failure of Justice League may have soured the actor on returning to the role. It is certainly possible that Kimmel asks Affleck to comment on that story.
Affleck’s next project is the film Triple Frontier. The action movie costars Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, and Garrett Hedlund. It is scheduled to be released by Netflix on March 15.
