President Donald Trump finally delivered his State of the Union address last night and gave late night hosts plenty of material.

The only people happier that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi finally invited President Donald Trump to deliver the State of the Union address may have been the late night hosts. The president’s time in office has brought on a new era of late night that is much more politically charged than in the past.

And while every decision, policy, or tweet from Trump gets dissected for humor by late night hosts, nothing seems to get them more excited than when the president is speaking to us directly. That’s how we get the impressions, mock video clips, and jokes about the man who “has the best words.”

The State of the Union address always gets special attention. But this year’s edition has received a little extra thanks to the controversy stemming from the government shutdown. It was delayed, then cancelled, and then finally went live last night from the House Chamber.

Late night shows were ready to go over the nearly 90 minute long speech to find as many jokes as possible. Three shows in particular stood out for their coverage of the State of the Union. Click through to see how Jimmy Fallon, Seth Meyers, and Stephen Colbert reacted to Donald Trump’s speech.
