Chris Christie on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie sits down with Stephen Colbert on The Late Show on Tuesday, Jan. 29. It should make for the interview with most tension in late night this week.

Christie was a controversial figure while in office and not much has changed since he left. He had an unsuccessful bid for the Republican nomination in the 2016 presidential race. And since then he has been loosely connected with the Trump administration but has never been given an official job after working with the transition efforts.

In 2018 Christie was given a role as a political contributor to ABC News. He certainly has plenty of experience working at various levels of government. The former governor also has a pretty good idea of how the Republican Party is operating these days with Trump as its leader.

As you can see in the clip above, Stephen Colbert isn’t exactly the biggest supporter of Christie. Those controversies we mentioned and a few public appearances have made it easy for late night hosts like Colbert to poke fun at Christie. But there is also no other host in late night willing to push back against a guest over politics like Colbert. This interview will give us a sense of where Christie stands on Trump and should be very entertaining.
