Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert kicks off the week by welcoming one of the biggest names in politics right now. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will sit down with Colbert on Monday Jan. 21.

Ocasio-Cortez has been making headlines seemingly nonstop since her unlikely win over incumbent Joe Crowley in the 2018 midterm election for New York’s 14th district. As a member of the Democratic Socialists of America, AOC has been portrayed as everything from the future of the Democratic Party to conservative’s punching bag.

Putting politics to the side, there is no denying Ocasio-Cortez’s personality. Any public appearance she makes or speech she delivers gets much more attention than the average member of Congress. She has also become a hit on social media.

Stephen Colbert is the best in late night when it comes to talking politics. And while his views may be similar to AOC’s, the Late Show host isn’t afraid to challenge his guests or push back when he isn’t satisfied with the answers. Expect Colbert to both lift up and pressure Ocasio-Cortez in what will likely be an extended interview.
