Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight, Jan. 11?

Between the apparent border crisis and President Trump’s address, now would be a good time for Bill Maher to return.

Any thoughts that we would ease in 2019 have certainly been shattered. The government shutdown continues and President Trump weighs declaring a national emergency in order to secure funding for his border wall. For many of us, times like these make us want to tune into Real Time with Bill Maher.

The HBO has long been a voice of reason for many and for others a chance to hear a different side of the arguments presented in a unique way. Whether you agree with Bill Maher’s political views or not, you can’t deny that the discussions on Real Time are unlike any others on television.

So while commentators weigh in on CNN and Fox News and discourse seems to sink lower and lower on social media, Real Time has become a place that shuns political correctness in favor of honest and frank conversation.

That type of conversation sounds like what we need as January gets off to a rocky start. We’ve heard from President Trump directly via his national address. We’ve heard the response from Democratic leaders. But a one-sided scripted delivery doesn’t accomplish much if the two sides aren’t sitting face-to-face.

If you’re hoping to find that tonight on HBO then you’re out of luck. There will be no new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight. The show has been off since season 16 ended back in November.

Thankfully the long wait for season 17 is almost over. Real Time with Bill Maher will finally return to HBO with a new episode next Friday, Jan. 18. Check back in with Last Night On before that to get a preview of who will be joining as guests as well as to see all the highlights from what will surely be a very entertaining episode.
