Is Last Week Tonight with John Oliver new tonight, Jan. 6?

With the first week of 2019 coming to an end should we expect to see a new episode of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver?

The holiday season is officially over at this point. We’re on to 2019 and most people are back to their regular schedules. That means a lot of us are looking for our favorite shows to be back on their regular broadcast schedules as well. And on Sunday nights, that means people are looking for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

The HBO show wrapped up its fifth season back in Nov. 2018. Oliver treated viewers to a going away present in the form of another film trailer. He brought back his wax president figures and got some help from Armie Hammer and Russell Crowe.

But now that we are into the new year, a lot of fans have been looking for HBO shows to return. Real Time with Bill Maher remains on a break for another couple weeks. That has left viewers with out the immediate reaction to the news that Maher and his panel typically provides.

For more big picture stories as well as reaction to the week’s news, HBO viewers and fans online turn to John Oliver. Unfortunately, they will have to continue waiting to hear from the Emmy Award winning show. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver does not have a new episode this week.

HBO recently announced the return date for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. You’ll have to hold on until February to see the show return.
