The holidays are over so does that mean it’s back to work for everyone at Saturday Night Live?

We’re off and running in 2019 now. Just about a week into the new year at this point, hopefully resolutions are still going strong after a good start. It’s always nice to start the new year off on a high note and for many people, that can come courtesy of watching Saturday Night Live every Saturday.

That has been tough to accomplish in recent weeks due to the holidays. The show took time off for both Christmas and New Year’s. We haven’t seen a new episode on NBC since Matt Damon hosted Dec. 15.

In displays typical of their loyaltySaturday Night Live fans have been looking for a new episode every Saturday since then. But we certainly can’t blame everyone at Studio 8H for taking a little time off around this time of year when you consider how grueling the schedule can be during a show week.

That break will continue this week. There is no new episode for Jan. 5. With New Year’s Day falling early in the week, the cast and crew were given the rest of the week off to recharge and hopefully come back better than ever.

No word has been said about who will be hosting when the show does return. The show’s Instagram page is busy promoting alum Andy Samberg ahead of hosting the Golden Globe Awards.

Last Night On recently put together a list of predictions on who we could see take the stage as a host in 2019. Check out the list and you’ll see a couple of Oscar winners and a sitcom star who is long overdue to host.

Keep checking back in with Last Night On for updates and highlights from Saturday Night Live. In the meantime, you can watch Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh host the Golden Globes on NBC on Sunday Jan. 6. It wouldn’t be a surprise if Samberg calls in some of his old Saturday Night Live friends for a little help. For us fans, it’s as close as we’ll get to a new episode this week.
