3. Andy Samberg

Having Andy Samberg host an episode of Saturday Night Live in 2019 would be a win-win. First, it brings back one of the most popular cast members in recent history. Second, it helps promote his show Brooklyn Nine-Nine which is making the jump from Fox to NBC starting Jan. 10.

Samberg hosted the season 39 finale in 2014 in what was one of the highest rated episodes of that year. He was only two years removed from ending his stint as a cast member but it was clear that he was still well-loved by audiences and everyone at Saturday Night Live.

Andy Samberg will already have some hosting responsibilities in 2019 before any potential return to Saturday Night Live. He is co-hosting the 76th Golden Globe Awards with actress Sandra Oh. NBC will also carry that broadcast on Jan. 6. It’s likely that Samberg will want a little break from that before jumping into something as time-consuming as hosting SNL.

NBC may consider Samberg hosting the Golden Globes as enough promotion for the season premiere of Brooklyn Nine-Nine. But audiences have shown they aren’t tired of Andy Samberg and who doesn’t like a good reunion on television?
