Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight Dec. 28?

The government may still be in a partial shutdown but does the same go for Real Time with Bill Maher?
December is about to end and with it the holiday season for most of us. That means that a lot of us are coming out of the self-imposed holiday bubble and looking to catch up on what is going on in the real world. The best place to turn for that information is typically Real Time with Bill Maher on HBO.
Maher has been doing it for 25 years now whether it is catching viewers up on the latest political headlines, challenging both sides of an argument, or making things go down a little smoother with a dose of his comedy. It’s why HBO took time this year to celebrate Maher’s milestone.
The past week seems like a prime example of one that Maher and a panel of guests could sink their teeth in to for viewers. The partial government shutdown is ongoing as President Trump seeks $5 billion allocated to build his wall. The president and First Lady also made a surprise visit to troops in Iraq. But even that gesture wasn’t without controversy as the president was criticized for politicizing the visit, signing autographs, and treating it like a campaign rally.
Bill Maher could have a field day with all the images, videos, and soundbites that came from Trump’s visit to Iraq. Unfortunately for us viewers, Maher is still on his holiday break. There will be no new episode tonight. We’re still waiting on a season 17 premiere date in January 2019.
